Founded on 1572, this place is full of history everywhere. You’ll recognize Villa de Leyva for its colonial architecture, its cobbled streets and the breathtaking plaza in the middle of the town, the cold wind and mist that you can enjoy by nightfall. This is one of the towns you must visit in Colombia.
While staying in one of the colonial hotels of this town, you’ll be able to wander around the charming alleys and cobbled streets. You may enjoy the local cuisine from Boyacá and drink some wine from the region. Top activities and places around: Pozos azules, the Casa de Terracota, and the paleontological museum among others.
There’s a lot to do and visit in Villa de Leyva, but, for us, what make this town magic are the streets and the architecture and the history secrets. We’re sure you’ll love it.
Jardín: a hidden gem full of colors
Located in Antioquia, 4 hours away from Medellin, Jardín is a town where you’ll get to know all the paisa traditions, try great coffee, feel the authentic atmosphere and nature. To start, in contrast to Villa de Leyva, the facades are full of colors, giving the place a lot of happy vibes. Jardín is surrounded by a lot of nature, mountains and waterfalls giving you the chance to promenade and do some trekking, enjoy and relax with the most amazing landscapes from Antioquia. Top activities: the waterfalls, caves swimming in the waters of Charco Corazón, sit on the main plaza and have a cup of coffee or visit a coffee farm.
Mompóx: UNESCO World Heritage
Mompóx founded in 1537 and named after the leader of a tribe, is located in Bolivar department.
